With the current social movement unfurling in Minneapolis, I am planning to interview a photojournalist on the ground there.
Thank you to the following for your time and expertise in my interviews:

Monique Priestly
Monique is a Vermont Legislator who has worked extensively on content moderation, specifically with Artificial Intelligence
“Technology doesn’t respect state borders”

Dean Jackson
Dean worked on a committee to determine social media’s impact in the January 6th Insurrection, and has a unique perspective on the relationship between social media and this particular movement
This only happens with technology- early adopters are radicals, they are on the cutting edge, they are outside the power structure- it looks like they have an advantage. But over time, like entrenched power with money catches up and the scale of their resources allows them to reimpose dominance.”

Dag Øivind Madsen
Dag is a scholar who wrote an article detailing the social movement that followed Charlie Kirk’s assassination, and has since been working to continue his research around the movement.
“All these things, definitely I think played a big role in terms of the reactions in the aftermath among the followers. And then, of course, you have, in this case, you have all the conspiracies. Which just creates even more attention from both people who loved him and people who hated him or disliked him.”
